Rain Barrel Catchment Program Giveaway
Rain Barrel Catchment Program
The County of Maui, Department of Water Supply (DWS) Rain Barrel Catchment Program will be ending in 2023. As part of our continued efforts to promote water conservation on our island, we are currently giving away free 50-gallon, eco-friendly Ivy Rain Barrels made by Rain Water Solutions Inc. while supplies last.
Eco-Friendly Benefits
Rain barrels provide water conservation benefits to households and communities in an eco-friendly way. Your participation will not only help you reduce your water bill, but also help reduce stormwater runoff. Additionally, incremental capture and use of rainwater can help our communities be more resilient through drought and prevent erosion on your property.
Gardening
Studies conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have estimated that gardening can account for as much as 40% of residential water use. That number can actually rise up to 60% or more of your total household consumption when other outdoor water activities are factored in EPA.
