Poster & Video Contest

Annual Poster & Video Contest

The County of Maui Department of Water Supply (DWS) offers an annual Poster & Video Contest open to currently enrolled Maui County students.

However, due to COVID-19 Health Emergency the Department of Water Supply will not be holding its 2021 Water Conservation Poster Contest this year. We would like to thank our students, teachers and parents for their participation and support of our water conservation program and we look forward to restarting the contest in the future.

The 11th Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest was held in 2020 with the theme “OUR WATER, OUR FUTURE, CONSERVE IT”.   There were 726 entries by Maui County K-8 students that displayed thoughtful and creative representations of the importance of water conservation. Winners are featured in the 2021 DWS Water Conservation Calendar

The 5th Annual Source Protection Video Contest  was held in 2021, with the theme “A Clean Water Story: What Goes Around, Comes Around”.  There were 24 high-quality entries submitted from Maui County middle and high students.

The winners of both contests received Certificates of Recognition signed by the Mayor and some great prizes!

DWS will continue to offer these contests to our bright Maui County students to foster awareness about the importance of water conservation, source protection and what we can all do to sustain our drinking water resources. We look forward to seeing students continue to participate and challenge themselves in our upcoming Poster & Video Contests to learn and teach our next generation about how important and indispensable water is to our lives.

Lastly, student participation in the DWS Poster & Video Contests would not be possible without the tireless efforts from all of our Maui County teachers and parents who selflessly donate their valuable time to see their students and children succeed in everything they do. Our sincerest MAHALO for supporting our keiki and the Department of Water Supply’s efforts to conserve and protect our water resources... because
